STRENGTH ANALYSIS OF SELF ELEVATING UNITS
The jackup platform considered in this paper is the most common type of unit for deep water, having three or four legs with each leg constructed of a triangular or square lattice framework. Methods used by Lloyd's Register for the analysis of jackup leg structures are presented. Structural problems needing special consideration on deep water jackup units are discussed and recommendations are made regarding design cases to be considered.
