IMPACT OF CRIME ON SMALL BUSINESS - 1970-71, PART 3 (CARGO THEFT - TRUCKING INDUSTRY)

The dollar estimate of stolen material in 1969 was about 700 million, approximatelY a 20 percent increase over 1968. Chronological records and statistics of value and merchandise stolen in New York City are presented. Exhibits include press releases, bulletins, articles on hijacking, theft, freight losses, and cargo security. A 65 page document, freight losses and damage, and an exploratory study of economics, administrative, and legal factors affecting loss and damage, is attached.
