A STUDY ON THE OPTIMISATION OF DIESEL PISTON PROFILE
In order to ensure that a diesel engine has a high efficiency, high reliability, seizure-free and abrasion-free operation, the piston profile should be designed in its optimum form. Two methods of approach are introduced, i.e. an experimental method using composite coating and a computational method by means of three-dimensional boundary element. Both the methods are proven to be effective.
