CORROSION CONCERNS IN EMI SHIELDING OF ELECTRONICS

A review of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding principles and practices, targeted to materials and mechanical engineers is given. Shielding materials, design of electronic enclosures, EMI requirements and environments used in commercial and military applications are discussed. Design of environmentally stable EMI enclosures entails the successful interaction of material, mechanical and EMI engineering disciplines.
