PROGRESSIVE METHODS IN CONDITION MONITORING OF DIESEL AND GAS ENGINE
The research work was aimed at the algorithm derivation for automated evaluation of the injection equipment condition using pattern recognition theory. Emitted ultrasound signals picked up from the nozzle holder and the injection pump are used for the evaluation of the equipment condition. The solving was based on a large set of automated measurements on injection equipments with simulated failures. The six most important injection equipment conditions were simulated and the choice was made according to their influence on the diesel engine economy.
