INVESTIGATION ON THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE WELDING PROCESS AND AIRBORNE NOISE EMISSION IN GAS-SHIELDED METAL-ARC WELDING

A computer aided frequency analysis is presented, with which investigations have been carried out in gas-shielded metal-arc welding. The results show the connections between the welding process and the emitted airborne sound waves, and clearly illustrate that the welding process can be monitored within wide limits using a simplified computer aided acoustic pattern recognition.
