POSITION OF REINFORCEMENT IN PRECAST CONCRETE ELEMENTS AS SPECIFIED ON DRAWINGS AND AS OBSERVED AFTER MANUFACTURE
ARMERINGENS LAEGE I ELEMENT ENLIGT RITNING OCH EFTER PRODUKTION
An investigation into beams reduced in depth at the supports which had cracked badly at this point, revealed that this was caused by displacement during placing of the concrete of the stirrups provided to resist the forces at the support. It is suggested that, in addition to the tolerances specified in Swedish regulations for the positions of the main reinforcing bars, tolerances should also be specified for stirrups. /TRRL/
