THICKNESS EFFECT ON FATIGUE LIFE OF WELDED JOINTS - REVIEW OF THE CANADIAN PROGRAM
Experimental data on thickness effects in fatigue of welded joints from the Canadian corrosion fatigue offshore research program are reviewed. The program includes tests at constant and variable load amplitude of plate T-joints with thicknesses from 16 - 100 mm with regular and improved weld profile and ratios of attachment to base-plate thicknesses from 1 - 0.5. The effect of seawater including two levels of cathodic protection is also examined.
