DOUBLE-FACTOR METHOD FOR THE LINEARISATION OF DRAG FORCE
Existing linearisation methods for drag force have some shortcomings according to the authors' analysis. In this paper a new double-factor method for a modified vectorial Morison Equation was presented. The coefficients are determined by the least square error principal and calculated by numerical methods. According to this method, the correlation matrix and the spectrum matrix of wave current force acting on horizontal cylinders are established. For estimating the accuracy of linearisation methods we adopt the ratio of zero order moment of linearised drag force spectrum with that of original drag force spectrum as the criterion of error evaluation. It is found that linear spectra obtained by the proposed method in this paper are closer to original spectra. So the method presented in this paper is more reasonable.
