SAFETY OF CHILDREN IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS. PART II APPLICATION OF THE CONFLICT METHOD IN A FIELD TEST
VEILIGHEID VAN KINDEREN IN WOONWIJKEN. DEEL II. TOEPASSING VAN DE KONFLIKTMETHODE IN EEN VELDONDERZOEK
The study, the results of which are discussed here, had a dual purpose: firstly, to check the suitability of a new method for assessing traffic safety and secondly, to gain some insight into the traffic safety aspects of an urban design experiment in the municipality of Delft. The experiment aims at the integration of several sectors in the vicinity of the home which are normally segregated so that children may be offered more possibilities of using them. The experiment also involved the integration of the various categories of users whereby the design of the area was used as a means to subordinate the vehicular traffic to other groups. /TRRL/
