ANALYSIS: THE KEY TO IMPROVING MCM SYSTEM EFFECTIVENESS

The author, of SD Scion, expresses the view that the increasing complexity needed in mine countermeasures vessels and the consequent increase in their cost requires a monitoring and analysis of their effectiveness. He gives a brief overview of minehunting and minesweeping and defines a basis for a "measure of effectiveness" for the vessels used.
