THE APPLICATION OF OPTIMISATION METHOD TO THE CALCULATION OF SUSPENDED LOAD IN THE YANGTZE ESTUARY

The paper presents a 2-D mathematical model for the calculation of suspended load, in which sediment transport capacity is determined by solving an inverse problem for the sediment transport equation with optimisation method. A computer program has been worked out and the model has been verified using the observed data from the southern branch of the Yangtze estuary.
