OFFSHORE FABRICATION PRODUCTIVITY GAINS FROM CORED WIRE WELDING
The papers presented at a seminar on welding for offshore applications (Stavanger, Norway, 8-9 June 1988) are reviewed. Topics include developments in flux and metal cored filler wires for improved productivity, developments in low hydrogen covered electrodes, artificial strain ageing test, behaviour of titanium and boron of weld metal deposited by FCA welding, typical weld defects and determination of their causes, and hydrogen induced cold cracking.
