THE MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS OF TYPHOON-GENERATED WAVES IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA NEAR HONG KONG
Field measurements of sea waves were carried out in South China Sea near Hong Kong during the passages of four typhoons. Statistical analysis of the field data was performed to produce useful wave parameters. The wave spectra obtained were fitted well by the JONSWAP type spectrum. The results are of practical value for the offshore engineering works around there.
