A COMPUTER-AIDED THREE-FULCRUM FRAME BENDING MACHINE
The three-fulcrum bending machine is the type most commonly-used for shaped steel bending in shipyards. Most shipyards throughout the world prefer to control the process by computer. This article puts forward the principle of the chord measurement model and the method for obtaining the working control value. It also discusses the problem of the back-elastic and plastic deformation effect area and a solution, and the technology required for highly curved components. These have been applied successfully to a computer-controlled 400-ton three-fulcrum bending machine of a Japanese make.
