PROBABILITY MODELS OF RANDOM ERRORS IN HULL CONSTRUCTION

This paper deals with the probability models which represent the random errors in the process of hull construction, including normal distribution, difference modular distribution and beta distribution, and discusses both the advantages and disadvantages of these distributions. Considering the fact that beta distribution is more flexible then normal distribution and covers both normal distribution and difference modular distribution, this paper suggests applying beta distribution to the unification of the probability model representing the random errors in the shipbuilding process. In addition, the author calculates the parameters of beta distribution according to the typical shipbuilding process, and presents a series of figures.
