O & K: UNDERWATER CUTTING WHEEL FOR A SUCTION DREDGER SUCCESSFULLY TESTED

Trials have been completed of an underwater cutting wheel (UCW) developed by the O & K Orenstein & Koppel Aktiengesellschaft, Lubeck. This is designed as an efficient alternative to a cutting head. Model tests at the Versuchsanstalt fur Wasserbau und Schiffbau (VWS) in Berlin justified the expectations placed in the UCW Series 125-140, of which six units have already been ordered.
