CORROSION RESISTANCE OF STAINLESS STEELS FOR CHEMICAL TANKER SERVICE
Corrosion behaviour of stainless steels in wet process phosphoric acids (WPA) and highly concentrated sulphuric acids has been studied by immersion tests and electrochemical measurements. All stainless steels tests showed good corrosion resistance to 98% sulphuric acid, but severe corrosion in 70% sulphuric acid.
