This offshore supply vessel recently been completed by Yssel-Vliet Combinatie. The basic requirements were a cargo deck of minimum dimensions 30 x 10m (which has resulted in the superstructure being built right forward); minimum dry bulk storage capacity of 5000 cu ft; minimum liquid mud capacity 2000 barrels; fuel tank capacity about 400 cu m; potable and drilling water capacity about 500cu m; provision for the carriage of brine, glycol, etc.; excellent manoeuvring characteristics; low fuel consumption; and firefighting arrangements to meet ABS class Fi-Fi l requirements. Propulsion is by four diesel engines, two of 1120kW mcr and the others of 840kW, driving the two cp propellers through gearing. The propellers are installed in fixed nozzles. There are two 295kW bow thrusters and one 295kW stern thruster. Two 1640cu m/h firefighting pumps are driven off the two outer main engines, and supply two 1200cu m/h monitors on a platform between the twin funnels and remotely controlled from the wheelhouse. Principal dimensions are: Length oa/bp 58/50m; breadth 13.2m; depth 6.1m; draught 5.06m; deadweight 1170t. A general-arrangement drawing is given.
