STUDY OF OPTIMISATION OF OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF FILM-ATOMIZATION COMBUSTION SYSTEM IN DIRECT INJECTION ENGINES

This paper presents a theoretical analysis and experimental investigation on 4E150C and 6250ZCD medium speed diesel engines equipped with a film-atomisation combustion system. Practical results indicate that this combustion system has significant advantages. Better mixing, lower maximum pressure, favourable fuel consumption and reduced exhaust smoke are among the observed improvements in combustion efficiency. The system has completed 8,000 hours' successful running.
