ON THE CALCULATION OF THE 3-D REYNOLDS STRESS TENSOR BY TWO ALGORITHMS

The numerical prediction of the turbulent flow at the stern of a double model is undertaken by two methods (the Partially Parabolic and the Fully Elliptic algorithms). Calculated values of the pressure coefficient, the mean velocity profiles, and the Reynolds stresses are compared with experimental results; there is generally good agreement between both methods of calculation and the experimental values for the pressure coefficient and the longitudinal and transverse velocity profiles, but there were discrepancies between the calculated and experimental values of the Reynolds stresses.
