MOTOR YACHT EXCELLENCE

The twin-screw motor yacht Excellence, recently delivered by the Dutch yard C. van Lent & Zonen to Chambers Charters, her American owners, has a hull mainly of Grade steel an a superstructure of 5083 aluminium alloy. Four watertight bulkheads divide the hull into a fore peak compartment, crew quarters, engine room, guests'staterooms and after peak. Active fin stabilisers, a bow thruster and two balanced rudders are fitted. The article describes the yacht and in particular her accommodation and amenities which include: owner"s quarters, with stateroom, Jacuzzi bath, shower, etc; four guest staterooms, with king-size beds and private baths or showers; 10-place dining-room/lounge and boat-deck lounge; sun deck atop the deckhouse; cockpit aft for fishing and scuba diving and transom door with access ladder for swimmers; captain's cabin with private bathroom etc; two two-berth cabins and crew bathroom; cook's cabin and bathroom; air-conditioning throughout; 1 000 gal/day reverse osmosis freshwater generator. Principal particulars include; length 38.71m o.a., 34.a4m b.p.; breadth 7.7m moulded, 7.9m extreme; moulded depth 4.14m; draught 2.39m; two GM 16V-92N main engines with pneumatic control from the bridge, each fitted with 3.5:1 reverse/reduction gear; two 85kW Diesel/generator sets; fuel oil tanks, 34cu m; freshwater tanks 6cu m.
