THE EFFECT OF URBAN TRAFFIC ON MAN AND ENVIRONMENT
STATSTRAFIKENS INVERKAN PAA MAENNISKA OCH MILJOE
Traffic is a very large source of air pollution in urban areas. Owing to the fact that emission takes place at ground level, man's exposure to exhausts is greater than exposure to emissions of the same kind from industries, heating plants, etc. Vehicle exhausts contain a great number of substances. These are examined group by group and the effects of each group are described. Various measures that can be taken to limit exhaust emission or its effects are discussed. /TRRL/
