AN ACCURACY ANALYSIS OF BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FOR THE FORCED SHALLOW WATER EQUATIONS

The preceding analysis has demonstrated a valid approach for evaluating the relative accuracy of numerical boundary conditions. Although only two numerical methods for solving the one-dimensional shallow water equations were examined, the concepts are sufficiently general that they could be applied to other methods and other one-dimensional force hyperbolic equations. In fact, the analysis should also be extendable to two-dimensional forced equations where angles of incidence to the boundary will be another factor affecting accuracy.
