LOAD INDICATORS FOR TIMBER TRUCK LOADS - MARKET REVIEW AND TEST RESULTS
LASTINDIKATORER FOER SKOGSBRUKETS TRANSPORTER - MARKNADSOEVERSIKT OCH TESTRESULTUT
The aims of this study were: 1) to find and describe interesting weighing principles and indicator systems available for weighing timber-truck loads, 2) to test the different weighing principles with respect to accuracy and operational reliability. The major types of load indicator covered by the tests were: load, axle, and crane scales. It was found that the market offers good and cheap load scales for vehicles with tilting platforms, that vehicles lacking tilting cylinders are well off with axle scales, preferably axle-bending or spring-shackle-tension indicators, and that vehicles loaded by cranes also have the crane scales as a good alternative. /TRRL/
