PROTECTIVE COATINGS - WRITING A PAINT SPECIFICATION

Premature failure of a coating system is generally the result of errors in specification, surface preparation or application. These problems can largely be overcome by a well written and detailed specification taking account of construction timetables, life to first maintenance, etc. The article indicates the pitfalls of writing such a specification and suggests how they may be avoided.
