THE BAUDOUIN 'P' SERIES

This engine is available in 6-cyl in-line and in 8-cyl and 12-cyl Vee-form versions, and in naturally aspirated, turbocharged, and turbocharged and charge-cooled form, to give power ratings ranging from 225 hp to 800 hp at 1800 rpm. The crankshaft is suspended in main bearings from the cast-iron cylinder block, which has rigid wet cylinder liners. Each cylinder has an inspection door giving access to the connecting rod and bearings, and also a separate cylinder head with four bi-metal valves and inserted valve guides. The engines are arranged for fresh water cooling, with a heat exchanger with built-in thermostat integral with the engine. There are individual centrifugal freshwater and seawater circulating pumps. The gearbox supplied with the engine may be flange fitted or independently mounted and can be arranged for a cp propeller or for full reverse-reduction for use with a fp propeller. Fuel consumption of the 12-cyl turbocharged and charge-cooled engine is 210 k/kW/h.
