A CASE OF TRANSIENT STRUCTURAL RESPONSE DUE TO VORTEX EXCITATION
The recorded buildup of a resonant harmonic response due to vortex excitation in smooth flow is re-examined in order to determine whether Ditlevsen's loading model, with its transient buildup and decay of amplitude, is at least weakly supported by a test result at low turbulence. Several quantities grouped under the name of "Aerodynamic damping" are determined from the test in question.
