STUDY OF VISCOUS FLOW BY OSEEN'S SCHEME. THREE-DIMENSIONAL STEADY FLOW AND WING THEORY

The author attempts to introduce reciprocity theorems and represent the flow field of Navier-Stokes flow by Oseen's scheme. The present report deals with the case of three-dimensional steady flow. A practical example is given of the application of thin-ship theory to the determination of flow field and resistance. For the case of slender-wing flow, Flax's reciprocity theorem is extended to the nonlinear domain to obtain a simple but accurate formula for calculating nonlinear lift.
