VISUAL INTRUSION OF ROADS AND TRAFFIC: A CASE STUDY IN THE LAKE DISTRICT
A survey was undertaken in the late summer of 1974 to evaluate alternative methods of assessing public reaction to the impact of roads in the lake district. Visitors and residents were asked to rate still and cine photographs of typical scenes including roads built to different standards and with a range of traffic. A further survey will be conducted in the lake district in 1975 using composite cine films. (A) /TRRL/
