THE PEACHTREE CITY PATH EXPERIENCE
Peachtree city's facilities for pedestrians and cyclists while initially concentrating on the need for school children to reach the elementary school and return safely without having to cross a road, has become a major parameter for town-planning. The city, seeking to encourage the use of electric vehicles and golf carts as an alternative to the automobile, has established a regulation permitting legal traversing of city streets by these types of vehicle. The Peachtree city path system will continue to be a viable alternative mode of personal travel throughout the many aspects of the community. Planning for residential developments then, will need to focus on the role of the pedestrian and his personal travel as a major criterion for design and implementation. /TRRL/
