VOITH SCHNEIDER TRACTOR TUG JOHANN WESSELS COMPLETED BY MARTIN JANSEN, LEER

This vessel has been designed for firefighting and mooring assistance service on the river Ems. The firefighting installation includes two pumps, with a capacity of 5 cu m/min at 13 bar, and a sprinkler system to protect the tug itself when firefighting. All exterior light fittings and electrical installations are explosion-proof. An oil detergent system with two spray booms is also fitted. There is a 15-t towing winch. Propulsion is by a pair of Voith Schneider propellers, each driven by a diesel engine developing 880 kW at 900 rpm.
