TESTING PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A HIGH PRESSURE, MULTI-PRODUCT, FLUID SWIVEL

The paper describes a rigorous seal test programme conducted to develop a high-pressure multi-product swivel suitable for use for a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit for the transfer of liquids and gases at high pressures and high temperatures through a rotating system. The procedure for the selection and testing of both the seal materials and the seal configuration are also given.
