PROCEDURES AND PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CALIBRATION OF WAVE SENSORS

This paper briefly reviews some results and experiences associated with calibration and verification of a number of different wave measuring systems. Emphasis is placed on calibration experience with Waveriders and heave, pitch and roll buoys for directional measurements. In addition, some new results from intercomparison studies of data obtained by Waverider and radar wave monitoring systems are presented and discussed.
