DESIGN PROCEDURE FOR FATIGUE DUE TO DAILY TRAFFIC
This report in part presents a design procedure by which the fatigue response of butt and fillet welded and plane beams may be checked for fatigue. The loading is obtained from typical trucks (five classes) as observed on actual bridges. The amount of damage in one year is calculated, and an average life is then determined. The second part of this report presents the results of fatigue tests which have been performed on butt and fillet welded elements due to block loading. These results indicate the reliability of using Miner's Theory or RMS Theory.
