CABINTAXI: TECHNICAL LEVEL, MARKET SITUATION, AND TARGETS
The joint venture DEMAG Fordertechnik of Wetter and Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm (MBB) of Ottobrunn began the development of the Cabintaxi urban transport system in 1970. The production programs of these two industrial companies are such that their products and know-how complement each other. DEMAG built the machines, and MBB the automatic control system. The Cabintaxi joint venture has been backed by the Federal Ministry of Research and Technology since 1972 for up to 80 percent of its development costs. Up to now, the two companies have spent about 40 million DM for this development and planned further development funds for the period up to 1980. In July 1975, the joint plans for the years 1976-79 were drawn up and approved. This paper outlines the objectives to be carried out in 1976.
