STRENGTH AND CARBONATION OF AUTOCLAVED LIME-SAND CONCRETE WITH SUPERFINE SAND AS AGGREGATE
Lime-sand concrete is a new type of free-cement concrete that has good physical-mechanical properties and durability. It is difficult to use superfine sand as an aggregate to produce high-quality lime-sand concrete without suitable production techniques. In this study, the influence of the autoclaving schedules, water to solid ratio and calcium to silicate ratio on the compressive strength, bending strength, splitting tensile strength and carbonation depth of autoclaved lime-sand concrete with superfine sand as aggregate was experimentally investigated. The results show that water to solid ratio has as great an influence on the strength and carbonation depth of lime-sand concrete as on those of Portland cement concrete. There is a suitable autoclaving schedule for each given mix proportion, and a suitable calcium to silicate ratio for each autoclaving schedule. (A)
