ACOUSTIC MEASUREMENTS ON SCALE MEDEL PROPELLERS

The Italian Navy is engaged upon an experimental study of the underwater noise originating from cavitating propellers. This paper discusses the parameters which play a role in tunnel noise surveys and describes the equipment and test methodology employed in the work. The first results show promise for the further development of a model/full-scale transformation law.
