THE CORROSION PROBLEM WITH HEAVIER MARINE FUELS

The technical problems of wear and corrosion in diesel engines arising from the deteriorating quality of fuel oils are pointed out and some solutions are proposed. The increasingly important question of fuel grading is discussed with particular reference to the CIMAC recommendations for intermediate fuel grades.
