This newly designed vessel, greater in breadth and shallower in draft than conventional vessels, is otherwise not substantially different in structure and outfitting from ordinary bulk carriers except in stern structure and engine room layout. The ship is intended for specialized coal transport and her principal particulars are:-- Length, o.a. = 240.00 m, b.p. = 230.00 m; Breadth, moulded = 50.00m; Depth, moulded = 19.30 m; Design draft = 12.60m; Deadweight = 103,900 t; Cargo capacity = 129,000cu m; Main machinery = NKK-SEMT Pielstick 6PC4L x 2, MCO 7,150/7,040 ps x 400/69 rpm x 2, NSO 6,070/5,980 ps x 379/65 rpm x 2; Designed speed <at NSO, 15% sea margin> = 13.5 knots; Classification = NK <Nippon Kaiji Kyokai>.
