HYDRODYNAMIC DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-SPEED CRAFT AT MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES

Investigations of hydrodynamic performance of high-speed craft have been performed at Nagasaki Experimental Tank. The method of predicting propulsive performance, including effect of propeller cavitation is considered, together with related studies. Also proposed is a method of analysing ship motions by Fourier analysis of models running side-by-side in the seakeeping tank. Results are given of an investigation of roll-induced course instability at high speed based on a simulation study of sway-roll-yaw coupled motions for a round bilge semi-displacement craft.
