NAVIGATION OF V/STOL AIRCRAFT IN HIGH-DENSITY URBAN AREAS
This paper outlines the navigational requirements which will be necessary to exploit the functional advantages of V/STOL aircraft in the highly constrained and crowded urban environments in which they will have to operate. The pervading influence of the air traffic control requirements on the navigational requirements is emphasized. The paper briefly compares some candidate systems and outlines desirable improvements.
