IMPACT OF PROPELLER REVERSAL ON SHIP BEHAVIOUR WHEN STOPPING

A series of model tests was undertaken to determine the stopping ability of a ship under various propeller speed conditions. The effect of the propeller reversing speed on the stopping ability was measured under different propeller revolutions. The outcome of these tests and measured stopping distances are discussed in this article.<CMO>.
