AN IMPROVED METHOD OF ESTABLISHING SHAFT ALIGNMENT FRON MEASUREMENTS BY STRAIN GUAGES AND CRANKWEB DEFLECTIONS

The paper describes the development and application of an improved method of establishing shaft alignment from measurements by strain gauges and crankweb deflections. The use of the method in British Shipbuilders is described and its future potential is indicated. <CMO>.
