THE APPLICATION OF THE THEORY OF SIMILARITY IN DESIGNING MARINE ENGINES
The basic principles of the theory of similarity and their application to the marine engine design and construction are discussed. The influence of particular parameters on the engine design is analysed and rules are deduced for forming a family of similar engines of the same type. The standardization procedures are explained in detail as well as practical experience in the development of the family of like engines.
