PROTECTIVE COVERINGS FOR STEEL PROPELLERS

This report, which is in microfiche form, describes the development of elastomeric coating systems suitable for protecting steel or bronze propellers, rudderhorns, pump impellers, etc. Coating systems of this type will reduce the capital costs of the propellers and the cathodic protection systems and will provide a smooth surface having a low drag. The results of extensive laboratory and full-scale tests are given, and suitable covering systems are identified.
