A METHOD FOR CALCULATING RATINGS FOR CABLES IN MULTI-LAYER GROUPS ON TRAYS

A method for calculating current carrying capacities of cables installed touching each other in randomly laid stacks is examined and a preliminary test of its application to UK types of cable made. It is concluded that it offers a rational design method for such installations and that work should be done to produce data relevant to UK cables and to check its application to a typical group of cables.
