RISK ANALYSIS OF SEA TRANSPORTS OF OIL AND OTHER DANGEROUS FREIGHTS
The formulation of risk analysis in the area of sea transportation is discussed. The discussion is based on a systems analysis approach. Risk analyses have two main objectives: to serve as a basis of discussion between political groups, authorities, & other interested parties in the field of marine safety; and to act as a basis for the evaluation and selection of measures for the promotion of safety at sea. The project for the importation of LNG to Oxelosund in Sweden is used as an example.
