A FINITE DIFFERENCE, TIME MARCHING SOLUTION OF THE SLAMMING PROBLEM (WATER ENTRY PROBLEM)

This paper describes the development of a time-marching finite difference model for the free-surface flow associated with the water entry problem. The flow was modelled using the compressible form of the mass and momentum conservation equations. General working efficiency guidelines are discussed and a sample problem presented.
