STATIC STRENGTH OF INTERSECTING WEB PLATES WITH AN INTERMEDIATE PLATE

The static strength of welded intersecting web plates with an intermediate plate has been determined for variations in the thickness and width of the web plate, the thickness of the fillet welds, and the angle of intersection. The tests were supplemented by finite-element calculations. The joint investigated was found to have a high load-bearing capacity under static stress.
